¿Cómo surgieron los villancicos?
Antes de que saques el gorrito navideño, es importante que tengas un pelín de contexto. Las canciones navideñas o carols (como se lo conoce en inglés) nacieron en la época del Renacimiento, según la página del Gobierno de México. Como su nombre lo indica, son canciones de la villa o música popular que se interpretaba para registrar las situaciones de los pueblos. “Hablaban de historias de amor e incluso formaban parte del Cancionero de Palacio” señala la web oficial. Sin embargo, para el siglo XIX el termino villancico se quedó exclusivamente para las canciones navideñas.

Es el enlace perfecto entre Navidad y amor porque su letra habla de las ganas que tiene la cantante de pasar con su pareja, en vez de recibir obsequios por las fiestas. Si leíste el título cantando, eres de los nuestros. Esta canción que tantas veces hemos escuchado en diciembre es de los villancicos en inglés más antiguos. Data del siglo XVI, pero además tiene su propia historia. ¿Te acuerdas del dulce o truco de Halloween? Pues los ingleses hacían algo parecido para la Navidad.
